MIL-PRF-85582 TY I, Class C2 is a two-component chemically cured water-borne Epoxy Primer that forms a film that is resistant to chemicals, solvents, moisture and abrasion. This product has excellent adhesion to most substrates and is recommended for use as a primer under aliphatic polyurethane topcoats in aerospace applications. MIL-PRF-85582E epoxy primer is rust inhibitive and chemical resistant with excellent adhesion properties.
MIL-PRF-85582 TY I, Class N is a Non-Chromate, two-component chemically cured water-borne Epoxy Primer that forms a film that is resistant to chemicals, solvents, moisture and abrasion. This product has excellent adhesion to most substrates and is recommended for use as a primer under aliphatic polyurethane topcoats in aerospace applications. This epoxy primer is rust inhibitive and chemical resistant with excellent adhesion properties.
MIL-PRF-85582 TY II, Class C2 This water-borne Epoxy Primer contains low infrared pigments. It is a two-component chemically cured primer that forms a film that is resistant to chemicals, solvents, moisture and abrasion. MIL-PRF-85582E is a water reducible low IR epoxy primer that contains strontium chromate.
MIL-PRF-85582E Specification, Types, & Classes
This specification covers the requirements for corrosion inhibiting, chemical and solvent resistant, waterborne, epoxy primer coatings that have a maximum volatile organic compound (VOC) content of 340 grams per liter (g/L) (2.8 pounds per gallon [lb/gal]) as supplied by the manufacturer.
Classification. The coating covered by this specification is divided into the following types and classes

Type II – Low infrared reflective pigments.

Class C1 – Barium chromate based corrosion inhibitors
